Brewing the "Green Coffee Revolution" in the Digital Age &
the Solar Century to Mitigate Poverty and Promote Biodiversity

The Solar Coffee Televillage Project will create Solar Televillages in the rural Coffee Belt of the developing nations. These stand-alone centers will provide online capabilities for e-commerce to trade "Green Coffee for Green Technology," as well as for distance learning to provide education from pre-school to college, telemedicine for healthcare, telebanking to facilitate needed financing, and other services connected to the World Wide Web and the Internet.

These centers will be powered by low-cost and environmentally-friendly solar-photovoltaic and renewable-power generation systems. The primary goal is to empower the rural coffee farmers to become an economic engine in their regions to create local jobs and rural prosperity. A primary benefit will be the slowing or reversing of migration by the rural poor to the urban centers of developing countries.
